Ms. Esther Snell
Instructor
Esther Snell has many years of teaching in a variety of settings. She has a B.A. in Humanities and Elementary Ed from Biola University, and an M.A. in Linguistics from Cal State University Long Beach. Her teaching experience includes training missionaries for cross-cultural work and language learning and primitive living, training an Indonesian co-worker in accounting skills and computer use, children’s Sunday School, adult Sunday School, and women’s Bible Study. She holds a multiple-subjects teaching credential and has 17 years of classroom teaching in a Title I public school, in grades 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8. Math is “her thing” and she loves using memorable, whimsical methods to help students understand WHY we do what we do with math, so it’s easier to remember WHAT we do with math. Her two favorite things from the classroom – (1) the “aaaaaahhhhh” of dawning understanding and (2) learning from her students. The best part of teaching is
learning.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys ten adorable grandchildren, graciously provided by two amazing sons, and two daughters-in-law who have exceeded her hopes, dreams, and high expectations. She enjoys a variety of thread-related crafts (like sewing, knitting, and embroidery), She enjoys reading, especially historical fiction and sci-fi (if it’s not too strange). She has a passion for missions, especially for every person everywhere being able to read the Bible in the language of their heart and home.
