Dr. Elizabeth Gilmore
Instructor of Biology
Elizabeth Gilmore earned her both her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston Downtown, and her PhD in Juvenile Justice from Prairie View A&M University. She currently teaches at the University of Houston Downtown, working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Social Work, serving as the Director of the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Program and as well as the Director of Internship and Career Services. Prior to working at the University of Houston Downtown, Beth was employed by various law enforcement agencies in both Texas and Florida. During her career Beth worked in assorted positions, primarily assisting victims of crimes through the collection and preservation of evidence, using best practice, scientific techniques.
Beth has three children that attend Bluebonnet, and she has a deep appreciation for homeschool learning using a classical approach. Beth is a devoted “dog mom” who enjoys quiet time at home with her two French Bulldogs who constantly seek chaos. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, particularly to attend training and workshops that provide the latest training related to scientific criminal investigations.
