NEW in 2024-2025! Foundations in Personal Finance teaches high school students how to use money the right way. Basic financial principles like budgeting, basic investing, creating starter emergency funds, getting through college without student loans, why and how to buy a car with cash, and giving to others in need will be covered. The curriculum is 100% Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) aligned. There are no math prerequisites for this class. This class can count as fulfilling the high school economics credit (one semester credit covering micro and macro economics). Must be 14 years as of September 1 to enroll in this class.

Families purchase the following required supplies:
- Foundations in Personal Finance student book must be purchased through Bluebonnet Home Scholars Collaborative ($32, billed with July tuition payment).
This student workbook will be distributed on the first day of class. - Dedicated space in a 3-ring binder
- Pencil, colored pencils, scissors
- Ability to access an online dashboard with video lessons and digital material.
- A basic calculator (such as this)
