Description:
Meeting over the lunch period on two Tuesdays a month, students will learn skills and strategies of the game of chess by studying under an experienced teacher and playing together. Each semester concludes with a chess tournament.
NOTE: Chess Club is offered on alternating weeks and meets at the same time and on the same days as Form 2 (upper elementary) Game Club; students in grades 4 through 6 must choose either one or the other, not both.
Materials:
Chess Club doesn’t require any outside materials to be purchased by families except the student’s lunch.
The following classroom supplies and learning resources will be provided by BHSC:
- Chess boards and pieces
- Chess clocks
